Venio Capital Partners leads Series A funding for Perception Software

AUSTIN, Texas – April 10, 2006 – Perception Software has raised $1.1 million from private investors to ramp up product development and sales.
 
The company, founded by Austin entrepreneur Joe Dalton in January 2006, provides design data management applications for electronic systems design companies and semiconductor design companies.
 
"We've closed some major business and needed to add staff, and this will allow us to do that," Dalton said. "We also plan to get into Asia and Europe early next year. This money will help us get there."
 
Perception, which has 10 employees, counts National Instruments Corp., Freescale Semiconductor Inc. and MDS Sciex as customers. Investors include Austin tech veterans John Hime and Mike Maples, Venio Capital Partners and Central Texas Angel Network members.
